Welcome to Maple Bay! The locals refer to the area as one of Vancouver Island’s best kept secret, and we like it that way!
There isn’t much that you can’t do here within a short walk from wherever you are, we really do have it all. There are a multitude of hiking trails on the three mountains that surround the little slice of heaven we call Maple Bay.
Nestled down below the majestic green mountains is the expansive beach with access to swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, sailing and so much more.
With two pubs to choose from, each with their own delicious menus, there really is something for everyone here. There are many ways to get here, depending on which direction you’re coming from.
Float plane service lands at the local marina, which also offers a convenience store, pub, restaurant and laundromat. There is a bus service that offers scheduled transit through the area as well as a Taxi service that offers fares to wherever you’d like to go.
Surround Yourself with Nature
Walk the beach, kayak through the narrows, paddle board your way around the bay, take a dip and cool off on a hot summer’s day, or just relax and soak it all in as you watch the beauty pass you by.

As you take in the breathtaking scenery that awaits you here, be sure to keep an eye out for the wildlife that also calls Maple Bay home.
Otters, seals, seal lions, herons, sea gulls and if you’re lucky, you just might catch a glimpse of a pod of orca’s as they pass by.
